The collages were a study assignment from my curator to shake our brains and take a break from our main projects. We had to create our own collage portraits inspired by David Hockney's experiments. I lacked my own photos, so I decided to combine myself with photos of my mum, as we are very similar. The result is a very moving and warm piece through which I have reflected how my mum and I add up like a puzzle, or overlap and intersect, and look out for each other, which is very much like our relationship. There are some funny collages of me goofing around with Soviet magazines and my own photos too.
